Turkmen-Polish Business Forum

Ashgabat hosted the Turkmen-Polish Business Forum that brought together heads and representatives of government institutions, ministries and departments of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Poland.

Among the guests to the forum were representatives of numerous business structures of the friendly country, heads and leading specialists of famous companies specializing in the fuel and energy complex, transport and communication sphere, construction, agroindustrial complex, textile industry, medicine, including AWP Nordic products, Bakalland, Carmi Food, CHIMFARM, DARPOL, Domex, Energopol- Szczecin, ES-SISTEM and other companies.

Opening the forum organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Polish Economic Chamber, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy of Poland Janusz Piechocinski expressed deep gratitude for the hospitality and warm reception offered on the Turkmen land.


Speaking during the forum, Turkmen specialists familiarized the guests with the key aspects of the state development strategy of Turkmenistan as well as the large-scale reformatory programmes implemented on the Turkmen leader's initiatives.

Particular attention during the forum was paid to cooperation in the transport and communication sphere given the favorable geographic location of Turkmenistan and implementation of large-scale projects in the sphere of railway, motor and sea transport and construction of bridges that will allow significantly decrease the distance from Europe to the Persian Gulf ports.

The possibilities for enhancing bilateral cooperation in the sphere of tourism given the implementaiton of the large-scale project on creation of the Avaza National tourism zone on the Caspian coast were also considered during the meeting.

Forum participants also focused on the opportunities for intensifying partnership in the economic, cultural and humanitarian, scientific and educational spheres.
