Turkmenistan-Korea Business Forum organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and Korean Association of International Trade brought together representatives of government agencies and business circles of the two countries in Ashgabat.

In the framework of the business forum, our Korean guests were briefed on the successes of independent neutral Turkmenistan.

In their turn, members of the Korean delegation familiarized Turkmen partners with the capacities and proposals of world’s leading high tech companies. In this regard, it was underlined the significance of cooperation in high tech production based on local raw materials, particularly energy, agriculture, textile industry and other spheres.


Along with this, Korean businessmen expressed keen interest in enhancing cooperation in such priority areas as ecology, construction, education, transport, communication, use of alternative energy sources. The guests reaffirmed their readiness to offer the most advanced scientific and production development for implementation of joint projects of the regional and national significance as well as train highly qualified specialists for leading branches of the Turkmen economy.

Underlining importance of building up cooperation in the trade and economic industry, forum participants called for increasing the volumes and widening the spectrum of bilateral trade turnover. It was also emphasized the necessity to promote participation of small and medium business in mutual trade.

A film about the social and economic development of Turkmenistan was demonstrated during the forum.

Specific steps and plans for further cooperation were identified during bilateral meetings between representatives of ministries, departments, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan with the members of the delegation of the Republic of Korea.
