A chain of successful performances of the residents of Turkmenistan on the international sport arena was continued by the masters of belt wrestling alysh and martial art taekwondo (WTF). According to the results of two competitions, the sport attainments of our country have been replenished with 15 medals – 2 gold, 7 silver and 6 bronze. The sportsmen devoted them to the spring holiday – Novruz Bairam.
Wrestlers’ International Tournament “Grand prize” devoted to the memory of the founder of this belt wrestling Bayaman Erkinbayev was held in the capital of Kyrgyzstan – Bishkek, which hosted nearly 100 strongest masters of this kind of single combat from 18 countries – Russia, Turkmenistan, Belarus, Mongolia, India, Serbia, Uzbekistan, Georgia and other countries. Our sportsmen were able to won a gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze medals.
Nearly 100 athletes from over 10 countries took part in the International Taekwondo Tournament (WTF) among juniors held in the Latvian city – Daugavpils. Here, the residents of Turkmenistan won a gold, 4 silver and a bronze medals.
As is known, the contests on taekwondo of WTF version have been involved into the program of V Asian Indoor Games and Martial Arts to be held in Ashgabat. Therefore, every success on the international sport arena is a good stimulus for our wrestlers before the performances in the Asian Games – 2017.
