Two Chess Championships – among children under 8 years old and among juniors under 14 years old have completed at chess and draughts school. Contests showed that to date, Mary and Lebap sportsmen, who shared all first places between them, are in the lead in these age groups.
In the group of girls under 14 years old, the chess players from Murgap valley occupied whole podium.
In the group of boys of the same age, the representative of the team of Mary province – Nedyr Siyliyev took first place as well. Pupil of Ejegyz Yalkanova showed nearly 100-percent result, having accumulated 14.5 points of 15.
If in the group under 14 years old, the Lebap sportsmen were satisfied only with third place then in the contests of children under 8 years old, they were the best, particularly in the group of boys, where they won all three prize places.
Among girls, chess player from Lebap – Leyla Shokhratova became all-round winner as well. Pupil of Rozymyrat and Gulhan Kurbandurdiyevs got the better of all her rivals in the course of round robin contest.
On the threshold of the World Health Day, in the capital’s chess and draughts school, a multy-board chess play will be organized immediately on 100 playing fields. Main hero will become grand master Maksat Atabayev, who has to hold hours-long marathon of games with the candidates and masters of sport on chess from all regions of Turkmenistan.
