Special Envoy on Water Resources of Switzerland Mr. Wilhelm Meyer and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation in Turkmenistan Mr. Pascale Aebischer, who are visiting the capital of Turkmenistan these days, were received at Mejlis of Turkmenistan.

The meeting focused on the issues relating to the improvement of water use efficiency, the national water policy and international cooperation in this field, the activities of Mejlis on the modernization of national legislation and enhancement of inter-parliamentary relations.

Focusing on the importance of cooperation between the two countries in various spheres, the guests expressed belief that fruitful cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Swiss Confederation would continue to develop on a bilateral basis and in Turkmenistan-EU format.


The guests were received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a number of ministries and departments, where a constructive exchange of views on the further development and prospects of Turkmen-Swiss cooperation built on a long term and mutually beneficial basis took place.
