Meeting of Intergovernmental Turkmen-Moldavian Commission

The first meeting of Intergovernmental Turkmen-Moldavian Commission for trade-economic cooperation was held in Ashgabat. It was organized within the framework of official visit of President of Moldova Nikolae Timofti to Turkmenistan.

Agenda of the forum held in the building of Agricultural complex with participation of officials and representatives of the state and entrepreneurial structures of two friendly countries included wide spectrum of issues of multisided bilateral cooperation, being established from positions of equality and mutual benefit.

It was held the discussion of priority trends and concrete steps on diversification of cooperation, having huge prospects taking into account available impressive potential and priorities of socio-economic development of two friendly countries.

The participants expressed the confidence that activity of Commission will attach new powerful impetus to further development of full-scale partnership in trade-economic, energy, construction spheres, in textile industry, in the field of transport and communication, agriculture, food and processing industry and others. The parties also declared for deepening of cultural and scientific-educational contacts and development of interaction in the field of sport and tourism.

In particular, it was emphasized the necessity to take the agreed measures on deepening of trade-economic ties, increase of export-import operations and expansion of product mix and volumes of goods and services.

Having underlined exceptionally important significance of regular organization of bilateral meetings of different level, including business forums and political consultations, the meeting participants expressed confidence that agreements reaches as a result of meeting in Ashgabat of the Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Nikolae Timofti will become a prologue for new stage of multi-aspect and superlatively constructive dialogue in the interests of two countries.
