Lesson devoted to such topic as extreme medicine or rendering first aid in emergency situations organized in the format of television space bridge has united the students of the State Medical University of Turkmenistan and Turkmen State Institute of Transport and Communication.
These higher educational establishments are connected with project “Leading elaborations of educational program on telemedicine for Turkmenistan”, being realized within the framework of Program of European Union TEMPUS (Erasmus +). This project from the Turkmen party also covers other higher educational establishments – Institute of Culture, Institute of World Languages named after D. Azadi and Agricultural University.
At that, the composition of the Turkmen participants of the project includes five higher educational establishments, which are united with the initiative on involvement into educational schedule of the subject “telemedicine” or disciplines associated with it, for example, such as “televeterinary” (TAU) or “telemedicine net” (TSITC). Concerning the language higher educational establishment and institute of culture, then they fulfill the mission connected with translation activity and preparation of relevant training video materials. Training trips to the European countries gave an opportunity to the Turkmen specialists to familiarize directly with the leading experience of organization of television space bridges and holding of lessons on “telemedicine”.
The lesson was held in so-called simulating educational center of the university fitted with special visual aids – phantoms. Future doctors under tutorship of teacher held for students of transport institute a series of master-classes on rendering first aid. At that, the students of transport institute answered questions they were interested in and immediately got exhaustive answers.
In future, it is planned to organize similar distance learning with other higher schools of our country, first of all, with partners of project of Program of the European Union. In the near future, it is also planned to organize and hold television space bridges with the large scientific-educational centers, leading medical higher educational establishments and other healthcare institutions of the world.
Such video cooperation at the medical university is also considered as prospective trend of development for such structure as the faculty of improvement of doctors. Distance format of education allows them improving their qualification without discontinuing work.
