Akhalteke racers – in the center of specialists’ attention

Conference hall of “Sergi koshgi” Exhibition Center became the open ground for important and interesting discussions of the participants of VII International Scientific Conference “Turkmen racer and world horse breeding art” held within the framework of sectoral fair.

Conference participants from Turkmenistan devoted their reports to the history of origin of Akhalteke racers, peculiarities of their upbringing, training of riders and breeders from time immemorial until our days. In one of the reports, it was sounded the topic of famous Turkmen Teke regiment, which participated in the battles of World War I and won the fame of invincible. Excursus in the history of the last century based on archival documents filled the hearts of our compatriots with pride for their heroic ancestors. This information more brightly reflected the unity of the Turkmen soldier and his faithful companion and comrade –warhorse.


The subject of interested attention of the forum participants became traditional, passing from generation to generation the training methods of breeders in Turkmenistan. In the speeches, it was also touched upon the issues of improvement of scientific foundations of Akhalteke horse-breeding, veterinary, development of equestrian sport and tourism in our country and many other topics.

Permanent participant of the solemnities devoted to the Turkmen racers, perfect rider and faithful devotee of “heavenly” horses, editor-in-chief of popular Russian literary miscellany “Akhalteke Info” Yuliya Kuznetzova mentioned about 80th anniversary of historical horse passage Ashgabat-Moscow, which was held in 1935. “After the lapse of eight decades, - she noted, - taking into account accumulated experience of long horse runs performed in more favorable conditions, the results of this heroic trip excite deep respect for its participants – people and horses.

The representative of the large, popular Japanese magazine “JOBA LIFE”, telling about life of racehorses, - Hideko Aida told that Akhalteke racer is very popular in Japan, but it is worth to see this majestic beautiful horse on his native land even it is necessary to perform nearly 20-hour air flight.


Markus Hubman from Austria shared experience in training of Akhalteke racers for the national and international competitions, having made a stress on high level of Turkmen argamaks laid in them at genic level.

Dane Liza Belhage from rostrum of International scientific forum called the horse-breeders, riders, trainers from all countries to show great interest in Akhalteke racers as sport horses, having powerful potential, and they could gain highest results in the hand of professional.


Jails Katrina Ardiel told about Akhalteke stallion Gerald, which is the representative of this unique breed in the North American equestrian sport industry. “We are proud of successes of Gerald and think that his attainments will be good illustration and advertising for Akhalteke horses in the world of classic equestrian sport”, - she said.

All this testifies that legendary “winged horses” from century to century carry their worldwide glory, being the model of gracefulness, faithfulness and nobleness, continue to excite invariable interest and delight of owners of stud farms of the world and take up solid place in the soul and fate of the Turkmen as before. The task of new generations is to preserve this living miracle granted to humanity by the Turkmen people.
