Turkmen schoolchildren won the gold and silver medals in the International Olympiad in Informatics, which was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The contest brought together about 400 senior schoolchildren from over 20 countries of the world.
The competitions revealed the knowledge of schoolchildren in five fields of informatics, including programming, robotic technology and computer science. The participants in the Olympiad were to demonstrate their skills in using ‘smart technology’ and applying information technology to prepare thematic video presentations.
A group of schoolchildren represented our country at the International Project Olympiad, which took place in Izmir, Turkey. Four senior schoolchildren from Ashgabat presented two projects to the Olympiad organizing committee for consideration. The authors of one of these projects received the silver medals, which became their first international awards. A few scoring points separated the second Olympic ‘duet’ from Turkmenistan from the cherished intellectual achievement; they received incentive prizes.
16 medals, including four gold, eight silver and four bronze medals, were awarded to the Turkmen students who performed in the final round of the International Internet Olympiad in Informatics, organized by the National Fund to Support Innovation in Education, located in Yoshkar-Ola, the Mari El Republic of the Russian Federation.
Students from the International University of Oil and Gas, Turkmen Agricultural University and Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction represented our country at the virtual intellectual contest.
The students of Turkmen Agricultural University top the list with the largest number of medals - six silver and two bronze medals. The students of the International University of Oil and Gas have the largest number of the highest awards – three gold medals and two silver and one bronze medals in their assets.
