The Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan railway is under construction. 45 kilometres of the Turkmen section of the international transport corridor have been already laid as of today. The subdivisions of the Ministry of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan have continued construction of the railroad on the Atamyrat-Ymamnazar section.

The Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan railway is aimed to become an important sector of the international transportation between the Central Asian states. This initiative put forward by the President of Turkmenistan was widely supported by foreign partners. The transport corridor that connects the transit and communication infrastructure of the three neighbouring states will allow increasing mutual turnover.
