In an open Cup of Prague tournament on traditional karate held in the capital of Czech Republic, Turkmenistan residents have won 27 medals, 11 of which – are gold, 8 silver and as much bronze. The national team of Turkmenistan has ranked the second place in team offset, having conceded only to tournament hosts.
Besides it, organizers of competitions have founded one more Cup tournament - on team kumite (duels) among men. Here Turkmen sportsmen have not allowed contenders to gain any victory. As a result, students of the National institute of sports and tourism of Turkmenistan - Diyar Hodjaev and Rustem Annaev, as well as the instructor and acting sportsman - Dovlet Berdiev have risen on the higher step of a podium.
Turkmenistan residents have also distinguished themselves in individual and team kata (complex exercises), demonstrative and individual combats. Besides the above-named prizewinners, medals have been put into a coin box of sport achievements of our country by: Durdymyrat Meredov, Arslan Ataev, Selim Myratdurdyev, Bayry Bayryev, Faruh Yoldashev, Oraz Durdyev, Rovshen Hudayberenov and Orazmuhammet Durdyev representing sports schools of Ashgabat, Balkan, Mary and Dashoguz velayats.
According to the Chairman of the National centre of the traditional karate of Turkmenistan, honored trainer Hangeldy Hodjaev, suchlike success of our sportsmen is not by chance. After all, Turkmen sportsmen are considered as one of the best on the international sports arena already throughout many years.
Tournament of the 8th World Cup, which passed on the eve of the Prague competitions in the Polish city Stara Vies is a vivid example of it. 16 strongest karatekas of the planet have been invited to competitions - 8 men and as much women, - among which are our compatriots Diyar Hodjaev and Zuhra Djumabaeva, who have entered into a list of five strongest karate masters of the world according to competition results.
The senior trainer of the national team of Turkmenistan has noticed that our sportsmen have received the invitation to the professional league founded by the World federation at the Academy of traditional karate of India. The best karatekas of a planet will train here the professional skills. Turkmen sportsmen - D.Hodjaev and R.Hudayberenov were also included into a number of the elite, and will have to take a special course of training including study of traditions of martial arts, yoga - Old Indian system of psychophysical methods of self-knowledge, medical knowledge, etc.
In the period from August 18th till 23rd, an open championship of Balkan velayat on traditional karate will take place in Avaza, where hundreds of sportsmen from all regions of the country and Ashgabad will gather. Besides competitions, here will be organized a seminar on improvement of professional skills of trainers of numerous sections - members of the National centre of traditional karate.
