Modernization of energy sector of national economy dictates new requirements to professional level of specialists, which training is realized by the State Institute of Energy of Turkmenistan.
To date, the higher educational establishment offers 13 specialties for the prospective first-year students. They operate in four directions of high school training - energy, economy and management at the enterprises of the sector, technological machinery and equipment, computer technologies. In these days, rush season has begun at the Institute. It is the entrance examinations, which are organized in the high school location - in Mary.
In June, it was the working trip of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Mary province, where the head of state also familiarized with new large investment project in power engineering sector – the construction of the first in the country combined combined-cycle power plant. It will be erected on the territory of Mary hydropower station - one of the oldest enterprises of national power industry in accordance with “Concept of development of power engineering branch of Turkmenistan for 2013-2020”.
Combined-cycle power plants are beneficial both in economic and in ecological respect as in contrast to power station of a simple cycle at the combined mode of their operation, it is repeatedly increased the efficiency factor, as well as the volume of emissions in atmosphere of combustion materials decreases by two-three times. The qualitative solution of these tasks in many respects depends on a professional training level of future highly skilled specialists - present students of the State Institute of Energy of Turkmenistan.
From next academic year, the student's number of the Institute will be replenished with the first-year students of new direction of high school training – “the production technology of electric and thermal energy”. In future, they as specialists will play special role in competent operation of combined-cycle power plant as well as other similar objects.
