Master of FIDE Annaberdy Esenov has won a bronze medal in traditional rating tournament “First Saturday”, which has come to the end recently in capital of Hungary - Budapest.
Contenders from England, Israel, Austria, Republic of South Africa and other countries withstood the 27-year-old chess player from Tejen (Ahal province) in group of participants with qualifying standard not above international master. During round-robin games, our compatriot has accumulated 7.5 points from 11 possible, having gained in seven sets confident victories and completed one game in a draw.
Especially indicative for A. Esenov became the victories over three Hungarian chess players, who were on a rank above of our sportsman. The winner of the Championship of Turkmenistan-2013 among men has made to capitulate the international masters Farago Sandor, Adam Szeberenija and Emil Szalanski.
Thanks to this achievement, Annaberdy Esenov has considerably raised his international rating, which makes 2289 points today.
The youngest representative of Turkmen national team - 16-year-old master of FIDE Saparmurat Atabayev has achieved quite good result. The pupil of Ashgabat chess sport school competed for medals in standard group of the international grand masters, where 13 chess players took part in. Four of them had the higher sports rank (grand master) and six - the international master.
However, so strong on level of skill the group has not confused the young Saparmurat, who have shown very worthy game: our compatriot has accumulated 6.5 points and taken as a result the seventh place. In the course of games, the pupil of the Honored Coach of Turkmenistan Aydogdy Atabayev was able to win two grand masters that is already high achievement: Boros Denez and Gzebe Atila from team of Hungary sustained a defeat from the resident of Turkmenistan.
