The presentation of the collection of international treaties on humanitarian law - the Geneva Conventions and Additional Protocols to them translated into the Turkmen language took place in the office of the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan (NRCST). The presentation was organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and NRCST with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

As a member of the Interdepartmental Commission of Turkmenistan to ensure the compliance of international commitments of Turkmenistan in the field of human rights and international humanitarian laws, NRCST focuses its work on dissemination of knowledge in this area.
The four Geneva Conventions of August 12, 1949 and their Additional Protocols ratified by 190 countries of the world are a key instrument of the international humanitarian law. As an active member of the international community, Turkmenistan ratified the Conventions in 1992 providing assistance to establishment of a constructive intergovernmental dialogue to ensure peace, security and stability in the region and throughout the world.
Translation was prepared jointly by the Interdepartmental Commission of Turkmenistan to ensure the compliance of international commitments of Turkmenistan in the field of human rights and international humanitarian laws, the ICRC and NRCST in accordance with the Plan of Cooperation between the Government of Turkmenistan and the International Committee of the Red Cross in 2015.

This international movement is represented by the International Committee of the Red Cross, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent, the National Societies of Red Cross and Red Crescent in 189 world countries, including Turkmenistan.
