Three gold and four bronze medals - the result of performances of Turkmen sportsmen at the Asian Alysh Wrestling Championship among men and women held recently in the capital of Islamic Republic of Iran - Teheran.
Hundreds sportsmen from more than 10 countries of the Asian continent have taken part in competitions on belt wrestling. For the Turkmen residents, the present championship became one of important stages of preparation for V Asian Indoor Games and Martial Arts to be held in 2017 in the Turkmen capital, where it will be played the medals on national goresh wrestling as well. As results of competitions have shown, our compatriots are in the fine sports form.
On the higher step of a podium, there were the students of National Institute of Sports and Tourism of Turkmenistan Garmammed Shamammedov (a weight class up to 80 kg) and Rejepali Orazaliyev (up to 100 kg), as well as the sportswoman from an administrative centre of Lebap province, participant of the Summer Olympic Games of 2012 in London on judo wrestling Gulnar Hayitbayeva (up to 63 kg).
Allanur Gochov (up to 60 kg), Lachin Badagliyeva (up to 52 kg), Aynur Amanova (up to 58 kg) and Shirin Kubayeva (over 77 kg) won bronze awards.
The result of Turkmen residents in the team event was impressive as well: the male group won the third place, and female - the second. In the sum of the scored points on indices of two team events, the national team of Turkmenistan has conceded only to representatives of hosts of the championship, having fixed on the second position.
