At the 8th Asia Wushu Championship in the Chinese city - Ksilinhot (a province the Inner Mongolia), the Turkmen sportsmen have won four bronze medals.
About 400 sportsmen from 24 states of the Asian region – Republic of Korea, India, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and others took part in the competitions. Medals were played in two disciplines - taolu (complex exercises) and sanda (duels). Turkmen wushu athletes participated only in duels.
On the third step of a podium have risen: Bayrammyrat Babayev (a weight class up to 48 kg), Annageldy Agamyradov (up to 52 kg), Byashim Geldiyev (up to 60 kg) and Geldymyrat Atayev (up to 65 kg). All of them represent various sections of wushu martial art of Ashgabat, being trained under the guidence of Yazmyrat Annamyradov, Shirmurad Berdiyev and Ilyas Nuriyev.
The national team of Turkmenistan included five young sportsmen. And almost all of them were included into number of prize-winners. It excellently testifies about high level of Turkmen school of martial arts. Here, it is possible to give numerous examples.
So, at the large international tournament, which was held in last month in the capital of Georgia - Tbilisi, our national team of eight sportsmen has won eight medals - 3 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze, and at the Open Championship in the Latvian capital, ten residents of Turkmenistan gained ten awards - 8 gold and 2 silver.
In February of this year, in the Iranian city – Zahedan, it was held the Championship of the Western Asia, which replenished the sport achievements of Turkmenistan with six awards - 2 silver and four bronze.
And if to turn to statistics of performances of the Turkmen masters of wushu within the last several years at competitions of the international level, then it is possible to be convinced that every tournament provides for our sportsmen the medals which, in total, already is about hundred.
In November of this year, in the capital of Indonesia – Djakarta, it will be held the World Wushu Championship among men and women. And before it, in the Iranian capital – Teheran, it will be competed for “the Cup of Persia”. We hope that Turkmen wushu athletes at these competitions will be able to show the best sport qualities and will return home with the regular medals.
