The International Exhibition and Conference on Tourism and Travel opened in the Avaza national tourism zone.
The exhibition opening ceremony held in Seyrana Hotel brought together the heads of government organisations of our country, businessmen, representatives of numerous foreign companies and guests of honour. In his welcome address to participants of the ceremony, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the main goal of the forum was to demonstrate the potential of the national tourist industry to the world community.
The keen interest of foreign investors, experts in the global market of tourist services and their major suppliers in the tourism potential of Turkmenistan, including the ambitious project of the Avaza national tourism zone, is illustrated by their impressive representation at the forum organized by the State Committee for Tourism and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. Top managers and specialists of Turkmen travel agencies, higher educational institutions and representatives of dozens of companies from over 25 countries, including the UK, France, Austria, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Turkey, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, among others arranged their expositions in Avaza.
The exhibition arranged at Seirana Hotel showcased the tremendous prospects for promoting international cooperation based on the potential of Turkmenistan's tourism sector. 123 companies, of them over 70 foreign tourism organisations and more than 50 travel agencies of Turkmenistan showcased their stands. Hotels in Avaza presented over 26 stands at the exposition. Moreover, the Organizational Committee of the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games also demonstrated its potential.
The forum that vividly illustrated the potential, achievements and new proposals presented by state organizations and agencies, private enterprises of our country, foreign companies working in Turkmenistan or looking for an opportunity to build up partnership with our country. Colorful expositions showcase new initiatives both from customers and partners, original technologies and innovations that can promote development of modern tourism infrastructure, its material and technical support, broadening the spectrum of services, improvement of the economic mechanisms of managing the industry and business.
The plenary session of the conference on Tourism and Travel took place in the conference hall of Seirana Hotel in the afternoon.
