In Ashgabat Sports School for training of young Olympians, it was held presentation ceremony of certificates to volunteers of the 34th General Assembly of the Asian Olympic Council, which took place recently on the basis of the capital Olympic township with participation of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov as well as representatives from almost 80 countries of the world. Discussion of issues of preparation for V Asian Indoor Games and Martial Arts to be organized in 2017 in the Turkmen capital became one of the main topics of the representative forum.
About 200 volunteers, who have been selected in the course of interview from among students of the Turkmen higher educational establishments - National Institute of Sports and Tourism, International University of the Humanities and Development, Turkmen National Institute of World languages named after D. Azadi, Turkmen State University named after Mahtumkuli and others took part in maintenance of work of the Assembly.
Volunteer assistants have been assigned on various directions – the assistant-translators, coordinators, managers responsible for welcome of visitors and their service, etc. Many of volunteers already have work experience at large international sport competitions. Among them, it is worth mentioning XXVII Asian Games-2014 in Inchon (Republic of Korea), World Cup stage on windsurfing held last year in summer in the National Tourist Zone “Avaza”, I European Games of the current year in Baku (Azerbaijan) and other complex competitions of continental level.
Present session of General Assembly of the Asian Olympic Council, which was held, according to foreign visitors, at the highest level, also testifies that Turkmen volunteers are ready for holding of Asian Games-2017, which will open new page in the history of world sports movement. After all, V Asian Indoor Games and Martial Arts will host for the first time the teams not only from the countries of Asia, but also Oceania.
Certificates have been handed over volunteers on behalf of Organizing Committee of Asian Games-2017 and Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan. The Central Council of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Mahtumkuli has established incentive prizes for the volunteer assistants distinguished during the work of General Assembly the AOC.
