The Turkmen judo athlete became the bronze prizewinner of the Asian Championship among cadets and juniors

Batyr Hojamuhammedov has won a silver award in the Asian Judo Championship among cadets and juniors held recently in the capital of Thailand - Bangkok.

About 170 sportsmen from more than 20 countries took part in competitions. B. Hojamuhammedov became the vice-champion in junior group in weight class up to 90 kg. The student of National Institute of Sports and Tourism of Turkmenistan held 3 duels on tatami, having confidently won a victory over the Mongolian sportsman, and then in the semi-final, overcame the judo athlete from team of Uzbekistan and in the final, in persistent resistance has conceded to the representative of Tajikistan.

These competitions became for participants an important stage of preparation for the World Judo Championship among cadets and juniors, which will take place in last dates of current month in Abu-Dhabi (United Arab Emirates). Our compatriot has proved that he will manage to represent worthily his country at the Championship of the planet.

Successes of Turkmen judo athletes on the international sports arena became good tradition recently. So, recently, our country held celebration in honor of the winner of the largest international tournament “Grand prix” taken place in the first dates of October in the capital of Uzbekistan - Tashkent. In these competitions, the master of sports of the international class Gulbadam Babamuratova won gold medal as well as a place as a part of participants in coming next year the Summer Olympic Games in Brazil. Returning back to motherland, she received the monetary award at the sum of 10 thousand US dollars on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan.
