The Turkmen - Belarusian business forum was held in the Mizan business centre. The Belarusian delegation, which included the heads of state institutions, regional representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Belarus, large private companies and enterprises arrived in Ashgabat to take part in the forum organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Turkmenistan.
Among the forum participants were “Borisov sleeper impregnation plant” ОJSC, “Belshina” ОJSC, “Seismotekhnika” ОJSC, JSC Bakery-confectionery company “Domochay”, “Bellakt Bobruisk biotechnology plant”, “Kommunarka”, “Litoplast-Med”, “Vitebsk carpets”, “Involux” and others specializing in the car industry, woodworking and furniture industries, food and textile industries, manufacture of medical equipment, carpet weaving.
Heads and specialists of the Ministry of Economy and Development, the Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Construction and Architecture, the Ministry of Public Utilities, the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan, textile industry, the Turkmenavtoyollary State Concern, the Turkmengaz State Concern, the Turkmenhaly and Turkmenobahyzmat State Associations as well as the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan participated in the forum.
Speaking during the forum opening ceremony, Director General of the Minsk branch of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Fedorchuk underlined the aspiration of his country to build up productive relations with the Turkmen state. It was noted that Minsk Automobile Plant and Minsk Tractor Works that supply thousands pieces of equipment to Turkmenistan demonstrated the successful experience of close and fruitful partnership between Turkmenistan and Belarus. A number of other promising areas, in particular, the supply of freight wagons, track equipment, elevators and other products manufactured in Belarus to our country are being worked out. The multifunctional service center is under construction in the Turkmen capital in order to provide the high-quality and timely service to the Belarusian equipment.
Bilateral meetings and talks between the representatives of government agencies and business structures of the two countries, which focused on the ways to widen cooperation between the two states, took place within the framework of the forum.
The official visit of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Belarus in October, 2014 offered a powerful incentive to the development of bilateral relations.
The strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Belarus has successfully developed. That is vividly proved by the increase in turnover between the two countries, the successful implementation of joint projects and active work of large Belarusian companies on the Turkmen market. Among them is the ambitious project on the construction of the Garlyk ore-dressing and processing enterprise on production of potash fertilizer in Koitendag Etrap in Lebap Velayat.
