The tournament for the Cup of Turkmenistan on hapkido martial art has taken place in the capital sport centre "Galkynysh". During two-day competitions the Ashgabat residents have shown the best result, having become the winners in the team event.
In competitions organized by the State committee of Turkmenistan on sports and National federation of hanmudo martial arts, about 140 sportsmen from Ahal, Balkan, Mary, Lebap velayats and the city of Ashgabat have taken part. Battles for medals have taken place in two age groups - among juniors and adult complements. In total 26 complete sets of medals have been presented.
The victory of Ashgabat residents in team event was unconditional: capital sportsmen have won 14 first places. Dashoguz velayat team members were settled on the second position with 5 gold medals. Mary residents, four times rising to the high level, have closed the top three.
Besides the Korean style, in Federation of hanmudo martial arts of Turkmenistan multitude of other single combats are being cultivated, including the Indonesian struggle penchaksilat, numbering thousand-year history. In the period from November 29th till December 1st - the championship of the Central Asia on penchaksilat, where the national team of our country will also take part in struggle for medals, will take place in the capital of Uzbekistan - the city of Tashkent.
