Turkmen martial artists win the International Taekwon-Do Cup in Bukhara

Turkmen martial artists won the Cup – the main prize of the 4th International Taekwon-Do (ITF) Junior & Senior Tournament taken place in Bukhara, Uzbekistan. The national team of Turkmenistan won the first place gaining nineteen medals, including eight gold, three silver and eight bronze medals.

The tournament dedicated to the memory of the Taekwon-Do founder Choi Hong Hi brought together 500 martial artists from the Central Asian countries. The Turkmen athletes demonstrated their mastership confirming their leadership in this type of martial arts in the region.


Orazmyrat Charyev, Rustam Suleimanov, Serdar Gurtgeldyev and Altyn Agaev demonstrated the high results in two events - the teul event (complex exercises) and the sparring event (fights) in the junior group.

Gaigysyz Atabaev, Goshaniyaz Durdyev and Abdylla Rejepov took the first places in the international, Maksat Ballyev and Vepa Ovezov – the second, and Meilis Nurgeldyev, Maksat Charyev, Resul Amandurdyev, Batyr Annaev, Erkebai Erkebaev and Muhammed Hudaiberdyev – the third.

After the Bukhara tournament, our athletes will prepare for the VI International Martial Arts Games to be held in Delhi on December 2-6.
