In the conference hall of capital’s “Yildyz” hotel, it was held the opening ceremony of forum “Caravan” organized by Embassy of the Republic of Korea in our country with assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The offer to hold it in our country was sounded during a meeting of the heads of two friendly countries within the framework of the state visit of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov to the Republic Korea in April of this year.
A large delegation at the head of the General Director of Bureau of European countries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Korea Pak Chul-min arrived in composition of 80 representatives of political and business circles, scientific and cultural community of the friendly country.
At the opening ceremony of “Caravan”, the welcoming speech was delivered by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea in Turkmenistan Mr. Jong Te-in, who has noticed that in his country, great significance is attached to the development of relations of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkmenistan. The ambassador underlined the importance of support by the head of the Turkmen state Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov of “Eurasian initiative” of President of the Republic of Korea Pak Kyn Khe urged to make active the economic and cultural contacts in the continent, which in many respects coincide with the international initiatives of the Turkmen leader aimed at creation of reliable energy and transport-communication corridors in the Central Asia and Asian-Pacific region.
The diplomat also expressed the striving for further strengthening of multisided economic cooperation, business partnership between business circles of two countries as well as humanitarian relations, including in the field of scientific contacts and exchanges of cultural values.
Four-day program “Caravan” is rather rich in evens, which will take place in the capital and Turkmenbashi city.
Today in second half of the day, at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Korean visitors held a scientific seminar. In the course of it, the leading professors-political scientists and economists delivered the reports devoted to issues of public diplomacy, development of national cultures and mutual cultural enrichment, directions of cooperation between the countries within the framework of realization of “Eurasian initiative”.
In the evening, the cultural program of "Caravan" was opened by performance of Korean dancing group “Таl” at the State Music and Drama Theatre named after Mahtumkuli.
Representatives of the large Korean companies, taking an active part in realization of joint industrial projects in Balkan province, plan to visit new International Seaport and complex of Oil Refineries in Turkmenbashi as well as to familiarize with construction process of modern gas-chemical complex on polyethylene and polypropylene manufacture in Kiyanly settlement, which was started in April of the current year.
On November 11, the members of delegation will take part in VII International Investment Forum, which will begin its work in the National Tourist Zone “Avaza”.
