The VII International Investment Forum was held in the conference hall of the Berkarar Hotel in the Avaza national tourism zone. The business meeting, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, brought together over 200 delegates from more than 20 countries as well as representatives of the major international and regional financial institutions and the biggest foreign companies. The heads of ministries and departments, banks, research institutes and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs represented Turkmenistan at the VII International Investment Forum.
Foreign participants represented the Government of Astrakhan Region of the Russian Federation, the International Road Transport Union, the Islamic Development Bank, France-Turkmenistan Chamber of Commerce, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Turkey-Turkmenistan Business Council, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey and the biggest companies from China, France, Spain and other countries.
The discussions covered the implementation of investment projects in the oil and gas, petrochemical and medical industries as well as the health care, transport, communication sector, financial and banking sectors. The forum participants showed a great interest in the investment opportunities in Turkmenistan’s building and buildings materials industries and hydrocarbons processing in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea. Emphasis was also placed on the existing huge potential to enhance long-term partnership in the textile and food industries as well as the energy, information technology and agricultural sectors.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the International Trade Association of the Republic of Korea signed the Memorandum of Understanding in the framework of the VII International Investment Forum of Turkmenistan.
