The opening ceremony of the 20th International Exhibition and Conference Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan-2015 took place at the Sergi Kosgi Exhibition Centre in Ashgabat. The organizers of the international forum are the Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
The forum participants represent over 160 major companies from about 40 countries, including Russia, China, Japan, the United States, the Republic of Korea, EU countries and CIS states, among others.
The enterprises that operate in the oil and gas industry as well as in the related sectors, such as metallurgy, chemical, machine building, power and fabricating industries, have showed keen interest in the exhibition.
Discussions of partnership projects continued in the framework of the international science conference that started its work in the afternoon.
The themes of the conference sessions on the first day covered the role of Turkmenistan and the Caspian Sea region in the changing global energy sector, monetization of hydrocarbon resources in Turkmenistan: the priority areas for investment and the current and future opportunities in the oil and gas processing and petrochemical industries.
Specialists from the subdivisions of Turkmenistan’s fuel and energy sector informed potential partners of the work carried out by Turkmen oil and gas enterprises and made the presentations on the strategy and policy of Turkmenistan for attracting investments to the energy sector through using the existing potential and expanding international cooperation in all areas of development of the industry.
The forum will provide a platform for meetings and talks between top managers of companies and high-ranking officials of Turkmenistan’s energy and fuel sector.
