Winners and prize-winners of superiority of Turkmenistan on Thai boxing which has taken place at the multipurpose sport centre "Ashgabat" were defined. The best preparation was shown by capital sportsmen who have won the first place in the team event.
In the competitions organized by the State committee of Turkmenistan on sports and national Federation of Thai boxing, about 120 followers of this martial art from all velayats and the city of Ashgabat have taken part. In total 22 complete sets of awards in two junior groups - to 16 and till 18 years have been played.
Advantage of capital sportsmen was obvious – Ashgabat residents rose on the higher step of a podium 16 times. The second place in the team event was taken by young masters of Thai boxing from Dashoguz with 3 gold medals. The third place was conquered by Mary boxers (1 victory).
The given kind of single combat is included into the program of V Asian indoor and martial arts games - 2017. So, present championship participants, especially in the age group up to 18 years – are potential applicants for places in the national team after 2 years. Therefore, each of them tried to show the best combat skills. In the period from December 18 till December 20th the tournament for the Cup of Turkmenistan on Thai boxing among men will take place in the administrative centre of Mary velayat.
