Open arena of Ashgabat Equestrian Complex has hosted show jumping competitions, one of the Olympic equestrian sports, on April 19 under the program of events timed to National Turkmen Horse Holiday.

Outstanding representatives of ahalteke horses occupy deserving place in the history of this sports and Olympic movement. For example, legendary black Absent, the celebrity of the world level has set a record for horses – it participated in three Olympic Games – Rome (1960) with the first place, Tokyo (1964) with the second place and Mexico (1968) with the fourth place. Its father, light grey Arab used to jump over 2 meters and 12 centimeters in show jumping competitions.

After opening of International Equestrian Complex in 2011, the show jumping received new development in Turkmenistan. This is brightly indicated by current competitions organized by Türkmen atlary State Association, in which 14 horse riders participated.

The competitions were held in two rounds, by results of which jumping-off was held. The participants of the tournament has to cover 12 obstacles of various height and complication. According to the rules, the rider who was not able to cover one obstacle two times is removed from further contest for medals. Well, all ahalteke horses have managed to perform the tasks outstandingly, which give special hint and spectacle to the competitions.

The prize winners of the competitions will be announced on April 25, on the day of National Turkmen Horse Holiday.
