On the ice arena of the capital’s Winter Sports Complex, it was held Classified Figure Skating Tournament dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality. Medals were played in four nominations.
The most beautiful and sharp struggle developed in the group of athletes, projecting out of the competition. Figure skaters, who passed this summer the training in the capital of the Russian Federation, competed there. In Moscow, for Turkmen dance group “Maral”, it was organized a two-month training season under the guidance of one of the most famous coaches in figure skating in the world - Helena Tchaikovskaya. It is worth mentioning that the legendary Russian athlete and coach, who trained a galaxy of famous Olympic champions, made a significant contribution to the development of the Turkmen winter sports school that the current performances of our skaters showed as well.
Victoria Jumayeva (Coach Galina Movsesyan) demonstrated the best training in non-competitive group, having won first place. It is also noteworthy a silver medalist, pupil of Yana Vakhitova – Ylaim Atayeva, who lost only 0.1 points to the nearest rival.
I.Chariyev, J. Mukhammedmuradov, V.Atayan, L.Vakhitova, A. Bayramov, L.Atayeva and S. Gulyantz, who became the owners of not only gold medals, but also new standard classes, also celebrated today the victory in various categories.
Good news came these days from the International Skating Federation (ISU), which includes figure skating, short track and speed skating. On a request from the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan and the National Winter Sports Center for the inclusion of Turkmen Sports Organization into ISU, it has been received positive response.
In the course of negotiations, it was outlined that in next year, the specialists of International Skating Federation will visit Turkmenistan to organize in Ashgabat the training seminars for coaches and referees. They also will assist in holding of the first figure skating championship of Turkmenistan, where our coaches and referees, who have undergone a training course, will have to take the original examination.
The matter of entry of the National Winter Sports Center of Turkmenistan into ISU will be solved during the Congress of International Skaters Federation to be held in June 2016 in the Croatian city - Dubrovnik.
