The presentation of the UNFPA global report on the topic of crisis management transformations in the world in the context of gender policy program of the United Nations Organization was held in Ashgabat, in the conference hall of “Yildyz” hotel. The event was organized by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
Representatives of the Parliament, a number of departments of the country, National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen National Institute of Democracy and Human Rights at the President of Turkmenistan, the State Committee for Statistics of Turkmenistan, Turkmenistan’s Youth Organization, the Women’s Union, higher educational establishments of the capital and mass media took part in the meeting.
The report prepared by the UNFPA on world population in 2015 gives an account of new program of humanitarian actions on stirring up the rendering in condition of humanitarian emergency the assistance and support to the female population of the world - especially women and teenager girls.
Participants of the meeting appreciated progressive socially oriented policy pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Within its framework, with a view of comprehensive protection of the rights and legitimate interests of individuals, including women, great importance is attached to improvement of national legislation, expansion of a dialogue with the UN and its structural divisions.
Within the framework of cooperation with UNFPA, it was implemented a series of joint projects. With the consultative support of this structural agency of the UN, it was worked “National Action Plan on Gender Equality in Turkmenistan for 2015-2020”.
