Team of Turkmen Students Wins at International Online Mathematical Olympiad

Turkmen students have gained 19 wins in individual and 3 in team competitions at the International Online Mathematical Olympiad, organized by the International University for the Humanities and Development for the first time.

The Olympiad, whose official language was English, took place on May 5-8 and included the solo and team rounds. It brought together some 600 participants from 84 institutions from 17 countries: Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Iran, Argentina, Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, Estonia, Greece, Indonesia, India, China, and Turkey. 

Our country’s team of 205 students from 17 institutions was an undisputed leader, having earned a total of 121 first, second and third place certificates of merit. 

International University for the Humanities students took six first places in the solo events. Five winners represented Magtymguly Turkmen State University.  The Oguzkhan University of Engineering Technologies and Turkmen Agricultural Institute secured two top places each.  Four winning spots were also earned by students from S. Seidi Turkmen State Teachers’ Training Institute, Turkmen State Energy Institute, the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction, and the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. 

In the team events, students representing Turkmen State University and the International University for the Humanities took two first places and one first place respectively. 

In the individual competitions, 27 second and 67 third places went to students from the above-mentioned institutions, as well as from the International Oil and Gas University, Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics, Military Institute, Institute of Engineering and Transport Communications, Agricultural University, State Institute of Economics and Management, State Finance Institute, National Security Institute, and Institute of Physical Culture and Sports. 

In the team competitions, the University for the Humanities took second place. Four third places went to students from Turkmen State Energy Institute, Seidi Turkmen State Teachers’ Training Institute, the Oguzkhan University of Engineering Technologies, and the State Institute of Architecture and Construction.  

Among the foreign participants, the solo and team competitions saw 27 winners and 91 prize winners, and 5 winners and 15 prize winners respectively.
