The sports delegation from Turkmenistan visited Kazan with the aim to share experience in holding large international sports events and build up close partner relations in this sphere that is of particular importance in frameworks of the preparations for the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, which will be held in Ashgabat in 2017.

The representatives of Turkmenistan visited large sports facilities in Kazan, the International Information Centre and Athlete’s Village and had a meeting with Minister of Youth Affairs and Sport of the Republic of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov.

The Turkmen delegation also had a meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov at Tatarstan Government House on January 20.

The Prime Minister underlined that Turkmenistan was a strategic partner of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Russian Federation and cooperation within the framework of the preparations for the Asian Games would become a significant area in the development of bilateral relations.

During the visit to Kazan, the members of the Turkmen delegation got acquainted with the principles of work of the Executive Directorate for Sports Projects and other decisions on organization of large-scale events.
