Exhibition performances were held on the ice of large arena of the Winter Sports Palace. “Maral” group opened the program of mass dances “Gunesh”. As if colorful stones in kaleidoscope, the figure skaters, famously sliding on ice, first gathered into single ornament, and dispersed as bright “confetti”.
Figure skating in our country is taking its first steps. Therefore, training of our figure skaters by world known Coach Yelena Tchaikovskaya was of invaluable significance. Last summer, seven girls and a boy from the sports school of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Sports had training course together with professional figure skaters of Moscow.
Six months have passed since that time. This period is quite sufficient for each of them to prepare their own solo number. And now, they have demonstrated their abilities for public.
- During two months, we trained from morning until the evening - says Eziz Annadurdiyev, - so as if we were preparing to fly into space. First, it is restorative exercise, then the gym, followed by training on the ice, then dance hall for development of plastics, then the pool and the day ended again with training on ice. The results are immediately evident: six athletes passed regulations on youth and adult category of new international system -ISU. In single performances, the figure skaters considerably complicated their numbers with layback, camel spin, cascade hops.
