Center of volunteers started to operate on the basis of the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi.
Center of the higher educational establishment brings together more than 500 volunteers from among students for service of sports delegations and guests of the V Asian Indoor Games and Martial Arts to be held in Ashgabat in 2017.
The Center's staff in their work is based on materials provided to Turkmenistan by the International Non-Profit Organization “Generations for peace”, on global experience in training of volunteers for large-scale sport events, and of course, on fundamental articles of recently published Law of Turkmenistan on volunteering, which establishes the legal framework of volunteering, defines the basic principles and views, goals and objectives, procedure of volunteering, as well as measures of its state support.
Training of the future volunteers is conducted during extracurricular time, simultaneously in several directions: foreign language, ethics, aesthetics, physical culture and a number of others. Students will also become familiar with the features of one or another kind of sport included into the general list of V Asian Games, the subtleties of sport terminology, as well as engaged in general physical training.
During of daily activities, particular attention is paid to the detection of the personal qualities of the future volunteers, such as responsibility, communication, tolerance, altruism, etc., determining the effectiveness of the upcoming work. And the additional classes on history and geography of native land will help them vividly and colorfully tell the participants and guests of the V Asian Games about Turkmenistan, beautiful and original customs and traditions of the Turkmen people.
In the Pedagogical Institute, all conditions are created for active trainings in physical culture and sports: there are four indoor sports halls, volleyball and basketball courts, a large tennis court, more than ten sports sections.
