The agenda of the meetings in Doha focused on the development of partnership in organization of major sports events, management of sports facilities and training of specialists. Qatar has accumulated rich experience in this area: XV Asian Games were held in Doha in 2006, such major sports events as car and motorcycle racing, tournaments on water sports, tennis, athletics, sailing regattas, etc. are annually held in the country.
Nowadays, Qatar is implementing an ambitious programme on the construction of ultra-modern stadiums and other infrastructure for the FIFA World Cup in 2022.
It was noted that Turkmenistan and Qatar share a common view on the development of sports as an efficient way to consolidate the healthy lifestyle principles in the society.
The possibility of organizing exchange programmes, study tours and seminars for the professional development of managers of sports facilities, etc. was discussed during the meeting with the heads of the National Olympic Committee of Qatar.
