Meeting with the representatives of delegation arrived in the Turkmen capital at the head of the Second President of the National Council of the Republic of Austria Karlheinz Kopf was held at the Parliament of Turkmenistan.
In the course of the talk, the guests were familiarized with priorities of home and foreign policy of Turkmenistan, being pursued under leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. One of the topics of the meeting became key trends of activity of the national parliament to which it is attached important role in legislative provision of reformatory programs, being realized in our country. As it was underlined, actively integrating into world political, economic and legal space. Turkmenistan pays vital attention to the development of democratic institutes, formation of civil society, strengthening of foundations of real democracy, and in this connection – to the improvement of national legislation, bringing it to conformity with generally accepted international norms.
Within the framework of view exchange on prospects of bilateral cooperation, the head of delegation familiarized with the structure and role of the National Council of the Republic of Austria and noted the availability of great potential for strengthening of fruitful cooperation between parliamentarians of two friendly countries. In this context, it was expressed the striving to establish closer contacts with a view of exchanging experience of legislative activity, which is of interest for both parties.
During the visit, the guests also had a meeting at the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the course of which they discussed the possibilities of further expansion of the Turkmen-Austrian interaction.
