It was defined the winners and prizewinners of Table Tennis Championship of Turkmenistan among men and women. The victory in personal and team competitions was gained by the capital’s masters of small tennis racket.
The master of sports of Rashid Ahmedov, who showed absolute result - four victories of four possible, became “hero” of the Championship. In final duels, he has twice beaten his brother - Ravil Ahmedov, - in personal event and in discipline “mixed pairs” (with the master of sports Enejan Balliyeva). R. Ahmedov has won two more “gold” in classical pair competitions, where he performed together with Yagmyr Taganov as well as in team championship.
Being the successor of a dynasty of masters of table tennis, the pupil of Rustam and Lydia Ahmedovs, within several years, he was the coach of young generation of sportsmen, many of which achieved high results not only in national competitions, but also in tournaments of the international level. By the way, at the end of the last year, two international championships – “Mellow autumn” and “Hopes of the Central Asia” took place in Kazakhstan, where the athletes of R. Ahmedov - brothers of Ilyas and Guychgeldy Allanazarovs have won silver and bronze medals correspondingly.
It is worth mentioning that on the day of final competitions, Rashid was the birthday man – he was 30. And the title of the absolute champion of Turkmenistan of 2016 became for him the best gift for jubilee.
Results of competitions among women turned out quite unexpected. In particular, the sportsmen, who were leaders in all tournaments of national level during several years, could not resist to a victorious spirit of young masters of small tennis racket.
So, in personal championship, 13-year-old first-rank athlete Maria Plotko, who has confidently beaten in the final Enejan Balliyeva - the champion of Turkmenistan of 2014 raised the highest step of a podium. The present gold medal has provided for young athlete of Ashkhabad, the pupil of the deserved coach of Turkmenistan Arzyaman Seidov the performance of the specification of the candidate for the master of sports.
In duels of pair competitions, the leadership was provided for first-rank athletes - 16-year-old Mengli Durdiyeva and 12-year-old Vilena Maltseva. In the final, the athletes of Rustam Ahmedov have not left any chances to their more skilled rivals - E. Balliyeva and the champion of Turkmenistan-2015, the candidate for the master of sports J. Niyazklycheva, which despite all reasonable efforts, could not resist against an attacking pressure of young Ashkhabad tennis-players.
Now, M. Plotko, M. Durdiyeva and V. Maltseva have to prepare for one more national tournament – Championship of Turkmenistan among juniors. These competitions will take place in March in Ashkhabad Olympic Water Sports Complex.
Young talents also have good chances to be in the national team, which composition will be defined in the near future by results of the present Championship of Turkmenistan. Further, the best tennis players of the country have to prepare for Championship of the planet to be held from February 26 till March 6 in the capital of Malaysia - the city of Kuala Lumpur.
