The International Tennis Seminar for Turkmen coaches and sportsmen started in the Turkmen capital yesterday. The heads of the 6th Sense International Tennis Academy in Beijing (People’s Republic of China) Carlos Rodriguez and Andres Bruno take part in the seminar. The both specialists representing one of the world leading tennis academies arrived in our country with the aim to establish cooperation with Turkmenistan to train high-class coaches and sportsmen.
As is known, during a sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the President of Turkmenistan as an ardent supporter and advocate of a healthy lifestyle underlined the necessity of establishing close relations with the world leading sports centers. During the visit to China in November, 2011, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the relevant members of the governmental delegation to visit the 6th Sense International Tennis Academy in Beijing and learn more about conditions and methodology of training highly-qualified sportsmen.
The 6 Sense International Tennis Academy in Beijing was founded in the beginning of 2010 by famous coach Carlos Rodriguez, who is well-known all over the world as a coach of the most remarkable tennis players on the planet.
At the end of 2011, eleven sportsmen – members of the national team of Turkmenistan attended the three-week training at the 6th Sense International Tennis Academy.
“Turkmen sportsmen have huge potential”, considers Carlos Rodriguez. “It is necessary to organize the training process in a proper manner to train international class tennis players. Along with it, it is important to pay particular attention to training the next generation of sportsmen”.
The head of the International Academy believes that due to the Turkmen Government’s concern about popularization of the sports movement and wonderful conditions created in our country, Turkmenistan is able to achieve significant breakthrough in developing such a popular sport as tennis.
“Turkmenistan is one of the best countries in the region in the sphere of sports infrastructure”, noted Carlos Rodriguez getting acquainted with the sports basis in the Turkmen capital during the first day of the seminar. “It is very important that President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who initiates reforms, including in the sphere of sports, is the Chairman of the National Olympic Committee. The numerous sports facilities under construction and opened throughout the country on the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan vividly testifies to the huge sports potential of your country. The decision of the Olympic Council of Asia to hold V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat in 2017 is a bright result of the Turkmen leader’s concern about development of the sports movement in your country. Thus, there is every reason to suppose that within the next years the promising Turkmen sportsmen will achieve high results at the world sports arena, including tennis”.

Today, Carlos Rodriguez successfully works at the 6th Sense International Tennis Academy in Beijing, where over 500 sportsmen at the age of 5-18 years are trained in various programmes.
