The role of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan in renewal of new Silk Road between Europe and Asia was discussed by participants of International conference held in Baku

The meeting was organized at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Azerbaijan in cooperation with the ADA University in Azerbaijan.

The participants of the forum from Azerbaijan were representatives of state authorities, leading politicians, deputies of parliament, heads of political and scientific centers, diplomatic missions, and regional agencies of leading international organizations. The Turkmen delegation was presented by the experts of the International University of Humanitarian Sciences and Development, and Ministry of Railways of Turkmenistan.


Welcoming participants of the conference, the representatives of ADA University, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan noted that Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan currently enhance the potential of bilateral cooperation, including cooperation in transport sector as the priority sphere of interstate development. In this connection, there are great outcomes reached in this area, the indicator of which is a both side frequent experts’ meetings in the field of transportation.

The main foсus of the messages given by members of Turkmen delegation pertaining to the Great Silk Road as one of the earliest integration models of mankind progress, as a vivid paragon of dialogue of cultures and civilizations and productive international cooperation.


As an example of intensification of international cooperation in transport sphere, it was underlined the importance of the event, held in February of this year at the National Tourist zone of Avaza. It is about the meeting of heads of air and railway agencies of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Iran, and Georgia at which it was discussed issues related to development of East-West multimodal transport corridor as well as enhancement of through traffics aimed at resolving issues on building effective transport corridors as a basis of infrastructure development of regional and international cooperation.
