The competitions devoted to memory of one of founders of sambo- Anatoli Harlampiyev were held in the Universal Gym “Friendship” on the basis of the Olympic Complex “Luzhniki”. Several hundreds of sportsmen from 25 countries - the USA, France, Republic of Korea, Venezuela, Mongolia, Cameroon, Morocco, Bulgaria, Romania, and others competed for medals of prestigious tournament.
Representatives of Turkmenistan have distinguished in the fighting version of self-defense without the weapon. The student of Institute of National Security of Turkmenistan Ahmet Tangryberdiyev has risen on the third step of a podium in a weight category up to 57 kg, and Abdulla Babayev - the representative of National Institute of Sports and Tourism became the bronze prizewinner in weight up to 68 kg. Both sportsmen - masters of sports of the international class - are trained under the guidance of the Honored Coach of Turkmenistan Ata Adayev.
Sambo-wrestling is included into the program of V Asian Indoor Games and Martial Arts to be held in Ashgabat in September of the next year, therefore present World Cup is an important stage of preparation for “home” complex competitions. Experience of holding of similar international tournaments is also necessary for Turkmen sports experts, after all this year, in the capital Olympic Township, it is planned to organize test competitions which will host the best masters of sambo-wrestling from the countries of Asia and Oceania.
