Today, several hundreds of sportsmen from 17 countries participated in the 8th Asian Taekwon-do ITF Championships among the juniors and adults which was held in Almaty (Republic of Kazakhstan). Our sportsmen won 7 medals-one gold, two silver and four bronze medals.
The first place won Orazmyrat Charyyev. The sportsman is 11-grade school pupil from Mary distinguished in the junior group in the individual taolu (complex exercises) discipline. In these competitions the sportsman from Ashgabat Serdar Gurtgeldiev won a bronze medal. Turkmen juniors won silver medals in team taolu performances.
As far as adult groups, our sportsmen, natives of Mary region distinguished in the individual complex exercises. The title of vice-champion was awarded to Annamyrat Goshanyyazov who is a military. Three bronze medals have been enriched sports achievements of Turkmenistan who are the following sportsmen Gaygysyz Atabaev, Myakhri Agayeva and Goshaniyaz Durdyyev.
The 8th Asian Taekwon-do ITF Championships will last until March 29. Turkmen sportsmen will still compete for the medals in the individual and team competitions, as well as for self-defense routine. So, the main awards are still ahead.
