Turkmen sportsmen, taking part in large competitions of the international level, including the World and Asian championships, in comparison with first quarter of 2015 year, have increased the number of won gold medals that is a bright evidence of not only systematic development of national sports, but also a qualitative growth of our sportsmen’s skill.
Three months of last year have brought 22 gold awards in coin box of sport achievements of Turkmenistan. For the similar period of 2016, there are already 36 gold, 21 silver and 27 bronze medals in an active of our sportsmen.
Among these victories, it is necessary to note success of the international level master of sports Gulbadam Babamuratova who in "Grand prix" series judo tournament in Samsun (Turkey) was beyond comparison in 52 kg weight category, having gained victories over strong contenders from Turkey, Mongolia, Portugal and Spain.
This tournament was a qualifying round to coming in August Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. The gold medal won by G.Babamuratova has considerably strengthened her positions in a world and Olympic rating where the Turkmen sportswoman is in the top ten among the strongest judoists of the planet.
Successful performances of the Turkmen tae-kwon-do masters in the Asia championship (ITF) among juniors and adults, that have taken place in Almaty (Kazakhstan) last month also act as especially symbolic achievement. Here our compatriots have won 20 medals - 4 gold, 6 silver and 10 bronze.
The best indicator among participants of Asian superiority in junior group belongs to the tae-kwon-do master from city of Mary Orazmyrat Charyev, who has three times risen to the top of the podium and twice - to the second step. Turkmen resident was awarded gold medals in disciplines “individual duels”, “production performances on self-defense” and “individual tulis” (complex exercises), and became the vice-champion in command duels and tulis.
The next success was achieved this year by kickboxers also. Representatives of Ashgabat complex sports school of the city sport committee, engaged as a part of the national team under the direction of the deserved trainer of Turkmenistan Alexander Snagovskiy, have become owners of 6 gold and 1 silver medal during annual international tournament in Riga (Latvia). Shameret Hallyev, Muhammed Altybaev, Merdan Mammedov, Shohrat Yagmyrov, Ramil Kasymov and Ylham Geldimammedov have risen to the top of the podium. A silver award in an active of Ismail Ataev.
Victories on such large competitions are important not only with a view of aquisition of sports experience, but also give good psychological spirit before new starts. As is known, next year Turkmen kickboxers will have to overcome competitions within the limits of V Asian indoor and martial arts games, to take place in our capital. According to results of performances in the Latvian tournament, our sportsmen are well prepared for forthcoming Asian games.
Level of skill of the Turkmen sambo wrestlers also grows. This year they have successfully participated in several large competitions of the international level at once. Namely - in World Cup phases taken place in February in Minsk (Belarussia) and in Moscow (Russia) last month. Upon termination of these competitions, the coin box of sport achievements of our country has replenished with 11 medals - 2 gold, 3 silver and 6 bronze.
Let us mark the achievement of the Turkmen masters of belt wrestling. Last month our wrestlers have triumphally taken part at the international "Grand prix" series tournament on alysh wrestling tournament dedicated in the memory of B.Erkinbaev in Kyrgyzstan, having won 11 medals - 6 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze. Winners of competitions are - Tirkishgeldy Ayazov, Pirguly Gurbandurdyev, Rejepaly Orazalyev, Jahan Muhammedova, Dinara Hallyeva and Rano Uzakova. Silver awards are in active of Ovezgeldy Berdyev and Lachin Badaglyeva, and Vepa Orazmyradov, Zarina Abdyrahmanova and Maksud Yegenberdieva have risen to the third step of a podium.
In the team event, the Turkmen fighters have divided the first place by number of gold medals with representatives of the national team of competitions hosts. This success gives hope that during V Asian indoor and martial arts games that includes 2 kinds of belt wrestling at once (classical style and Turkmen goresh), our compatriots will show their best.
