As is known, recently our swimmers won 14 medals at the international licensed tournament on swimming in Dubai (UAE). Now good news came from Antalya (Turkey) where it was held the international tournament in kickboxing which added to sport achievements of Turkmenistan 6 more medals- two gold, one silver and three bronze medals.
The competition was attended by more than 150 athletes from about 20 countries competing for medals in various disciplines of this fighting art. Our sportsmen excelled in two of them- “low kick” and “full contact”.
At the top of the podium in various weight categories stood up Pygy Silabov (weight category up to 60 kg), and Merdan Mamedov (up to 67kg). Silver medal has won Shohrat Yagmyrov (up to 71kg), bronze medals were awarded Hudaiguly Komekov (up to 54kg), Berdy Bekmyradov (up to 75kg), and Allamyrad Annamyradov (up to 86kg).
Winners of the tournament are part of a comprehensive sports school of Ashgabat city sports committee, where they study under the guidance of distinguished coaches of Turkmenistan Alexander Snagovsky, Rejep Hodzhamammedov, Salyh Mamekov and Halmurat Izmaylov.
The ongoing high results of our kick boxers at the international competitions add confidence that at the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, as is known, will take place in September of the next year in the Turkmen capital; our sportsmen will show the best results.

Moreover, two weeks ago they successfully performed at the international tournament in the capital of Latvia – Riga, returned to their homeland with six gold and one silver medals. This result provided the national team of Turkmenistan first place in the team event. And now the next success in Turkey, which assures that Turkmen school of kick boxing, takes one of the leading places in the world.
Currently, the male team of kick boxers prepares to the World Cup on kickboxing which will be held in the capital of Hungary – Budapest on May 12-15, 2016. We look forward to achieving victories from our athletes in these competitions.
