Representatives of the Chinese government, heads of diplomatic missions of the foreign states accredited in China, heads and experts of the state scientific research institutes in PRC, ranking officers of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the PRC, members of the Turkmen delegation, mass-media of two countries have taken part in the representative forum organized by the Chinese national society of friendship with foreign countries, entering into its structure the Society of friendship with the Central Asian states, as well as Embassy of Turkmenistan in the People’s Republic of China.
Conference work held in the Palace of the peace of the Chinese national society of friendship with foreign countries, was forestalled by the photo-exhibition. The presented pictures reflected tremendous successes of the scale transformations initiated by the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in all spheres of the state and public life of Turkmenistan, national traditions and customs. Before the forum beginning a video clip which has illustrated achievements of our country in political, social and economic, as well as cultural-humanitarian spheres has been shown.
During forum work two key themes were discussed: a role of independent Turkmenistan in strengthening of regional and global cooperation, as well as positive experience of mutual relations between our country and China, having thousand-year of historical roots.
It was noticed that strategy of a positive neutrality, the “open doors” policy and equal partnership on the basis of mutual interests, consistently realized by the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, today has found wide recognition and support by the international community. The purpose of the policy is creation of conditions for steady social and economic development as in regional, so in global scale, mutually beneficial cooperation with various countries of the planet and authoritative international organisations.
Within the framework of the conference, there were presentations on history of the Turkmen-Chinese relations as well as key aspects of interstate interaction at the modern stage. Reports of the vice-president of the Chinese Institute of the International Researches of Professor Zhuan Tszuntsze, the deputy director of Institute of Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia of Academy of Social Sciences of China Professor Sun Li, professor of the Central University of Nationalities of China Hu Chzhenhua were of particular interest of forum participants.
As it was noted, establishing the cooperation on the basis of mutual respect and responsible approach, our countries actively interact not only at bilateral, but also at multilateral level - within the framework of the largest international organisations and structures, first of all, the United Nations Organization. These relations completely meet the interests of two states and people as well as one of important factors of preservation and consolidation of peace, maintenance of sustainable development, economic progress and prosperity in the Central Asia, make positive impact on economic integration processes in the region.
According to participants, such level of partnership is in many respects caused by ancient roots and traditions of mutually respectful dialogue between our people, which gain today modern forms and content.
Mutual striving of Turkmenistan and China to all-round deepening of political, economic, cultural-humanitarian ties contributes to the development of interstate relations. To date, the multilevel mechanism of interaction, which includes meetings at the most various levels - from negotiations of heads of the states up to business contacts of Turkmen and Chinese business circles, is developed between two states. As examples of success and efficiency of the model of cooperation verified within the years, it was mentioned numerous realized large joint projects of national and international significance.
Thereupon, the contributors focused special attention on successful implementation of the grandiose project of XXI century – the construction of the largest transnational gas pipeline Turkmenistan-China, which provides long-term deliveries of Turkmen natural gas to People’s Republic of China.
The Turkmen-Chinese interaction within the framework of the project of creation of the Economic Silk Road – “One way, one belt” became a separate topic of scientific conference. In reports of participants, it was noted the significance of joint work of two countries on revival of an ancient Silk Road in new quality, in the form of development of modern transnational motor, railway and gas pipeline ways.
During discussions, it was considered the issues of humanitarian sphere, which serves today as the important factor of strengthening of friendship and mutual understanding between two nations and is one of key directions of bilateral cooperation. In this context, it was ascertained the activization of exchanges and contacts of representatives of creative and scientific intelligentsia, participation in the conferences and seminars held both in Turkmenistan and in China.
