National teams from 10 countries took part in the competitions entitled “Olympic bear” held recently in Moscow.
Our compatriots have won the medals of the highest standard in junior group. Mekan Gurbanov (weight class up to 55 kg) and RyzagulyToymyradov (up to 72 kg) have distinguished here.
The remaining awards were gained in the group of men and women. Silver medals in the composition of the Turkmen team were won by student of the National Institute of Sports and Tourism Aylar Gurbanova (up to 53 kg), and “bronze” - by student of the National Institute of Transport and Communications Nurmyrat Berkeliyev (up to 68 kg).
Taekwondo WTF, which is an Olympic sport, was involved into the program of V Asian Indoor Games and Martial Arts 2017 in Ashgabat. And the current success in the international tournament will serve for Turkmen followers of the Korean martial art as an additional stimulus before performances in the “home” complex competitions that will host a record number of participants from over 60 countries of Asia and Oceania.
