The marathon was organized by the Turkmen Atlary State Association, the State Committee for Sports and the National Equestrian Sports Centre.
Famous Turkmen singers and dance groups performed a bright musical programme for sportsmen and spectators, including foreign guests before the beginning of the marathon. Upon completion of the official ceremony, the chief referee Kaido Rusett from Estonia invited 25 riders to take part in the marathon.
