The action organized by the Football Federation in cooperation with the State Committee for Sports brought together about 200 athletes of different age groups in the multifunctional sports complex “Ashgabat”. The participants of the festival were offered to test their strength not only in the football matches, but also in various competitions - on coordination of movements, juggling the ball, beats for accuracy, throwing the ball with hands and others.

Great assistant in organization of the sporting event was rendered by volunteers from the youth movement “Y-PEER” together with representatives of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), which established intellectual competition, where athletes were asked to answer questions related to the promotion of healthy lifestyles and fight against tobacco. For each correct answer the participants were given gifts.

Mass Football Day “Grassroots” first was celebrated only in Europe, but since 2013, the AFC has established this sports action urged to promote this sport, especially among children and the Asian part of the continent.

In March 16, the Football Championship of Turkmenistan among juniors born in 2001 starts in the administrative center of Mary province. Teams of all regions of the country and Ashgabat will be competing for the medals. The winner will be determined on May 22.
