At the forum, it was attended around 300 journalists and experts from over 20 countries.

The Belarusian International Media Forum is an annual event, which has been organized with the assistance of the CIS Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund and the CIS Executive Committee. One of the important aspects of it is the interaction of sovereign states in the establishment of common information and humanitarian fields based on the common system of ideological orientation, spiritual traditions and values.

The delegates from different countries came to a common view that in the state of modern globalization, we were obliged to preserve our own national identity, cultural and historical originality. The application of integrative institutions for the benefit of each country was underlined. Here, the mass media played an important role in promoting and asserting it.

One of the strategic missions of the media community today is cultural and spiritual enlightenments in the name of harmonization and mutual understanding. New technologies make it possible to widely demonstrate our traditional values in all its variety and diversity throughout the Internet, with application of multimedia options.

“Information must positively impact on people”, said Sergei Lebedev, CIS Executive Secretary during the opening plenary session of the XI Belarusian International Media Forum "Partnership for the Future." He expressed his deep assurance that the media coverage of the acute problems must contribute to a rapid and peaceful resolution of conflicts.

One of the lively debates at the forum was the theme "Contemporary Media: New Technologies, New Opportunities". At the debate, the Internet was seen as a factor of establishment of a new social-media paradigm. In the context of social responsibility, it was discussed topical issues of legal regulation of networking environment with regard to the national segment, ways of distribution diverse, high-quality and timely information through all channels of communication by upgrading professional, ideological levels of electronic mass media.

The core is to attract a reader with regard to bringing up his/her sense of taste, by preserving the mastery of the journalistic word, and by transferring the culture of text and meaning, as stated leading media experts. They also underlined that the task of the mass media was to establish such atmosphere in which creative ideas, thoughts and views would be active factors of social development.

The major role is imposed to interstate information exchange in establishing integrative environment rather than noncompetitive. One of the methods is automatic allocation of news under internet resources of news agency from the partner agency of the other country. This project is of a great interest for Turkmenistan, since the topic of interaction in the field of information is one of the keys that President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov put for discussion during the talks at the highest levels, including meetings with heads of governments and international organizations, representatives of government and business circles of the world.

Apart from the main sessions of the media forum, members of the Turkmen delegation participated in the events of the XX International specialized exhibition on "Mass Media in Belarus" and the Summer School of Journalism. They attended master classes set by the leading professionals from various countries.

The Summer School at the Institute of Journalism of the Belarusian State University hosted meeting of the leaders of the Commonwealth countries’ news agencies with future colleagues, students, young representatives of Turkmenistan. Further it was discussed the influence of technology onto the information sphere work. Although it dictates new approaches and requirements yet it cannot replace journalists.

As noted, a special role of public information agencies is devoted to leading and reputable news generators providing its services not only for the consumers within the country, but also abroad. As a platform of broadcasting of the state activities it generates up to 70 percent of all content in all mass media. In the XXI century for the news agencies are opened new opportunities and challenges, including the optimal use of printing resources, radio, television, and Internet.

In line with the results of the XI Belarusian International Media Forum «Partnership for the Future”, it was adopted a resolution. As stated in the resolution the mass media must take responsibility to become a factor of consolidation and creation of mutual understanding and cooperation aimed at strengthening of mutual respect and friendship between two countries and nations.
