The organizers of this largest specialized forum under instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov were the State Concern "Turkmengaz" and Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The forum aimed at further expansion of mutually beneficial international partnerships in energy sector.

On May 20, in the first half day in Congress Hall, a comprehensive place for international communications, cooperation and exchange of up-to-date experiences held opening ceremony of the International Exhibition in line with opening of the VII International Gas Congress of Turkmenistan. The participants of the event were heads, experts and specialists of the leading international companies and domestic industrial enterprises and associations.

On May 13, during the Meeting of the Cabinet of Ministries, President Gurbaguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that the goal of this event was to familiarize our guests with raw materials’ assets, operating oil well and processing of facilities in fuel and energy sector of our country and perspective of its development.

Foreign participants presented their groundwork and achievements in development, production, purification and processing in the fields of gas and gas condensate, liquefied gas production and supply of "blue fuel" for internal and external customers.

The Exhibition displayed diverse expositions of large enterprises of oil and gas industries’ production, investment, commercial sectors and socio-economic aspects of its work.

Then, the grand opening of the International Gas Congress was held with participation of representative delegations from the European Union, Russia, the United States, the People's Republic of China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, India, Iran and other countries. The Turkmen side was consisted of representatives of the Government, Ministry of Oil and Gas, State Agency for Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources under President of Turkmenistan, branch wise state concerns and institutions, other ministries and branch ministries.

The International Gas Congress started with presentations by heads of domestic and foreign ministries, a number of the world's oil and gas companies.

The main topics of the first day: a review of the natural gas market and a role of Turkmenistan in the global gas industry, diversification of export markets, reliable and stable transit, innovative methods of exploration and development of fields, gas processing industry.

Currently, wide coverage of the forum highlighted such topical areas as international partnership, direct foreign investments, application of world experiences and technologies for further modernization of fuel and energy sector of our country, rational development of hydrocarbon reserves.

Natural gas pipeline energy resource supply is one of those kinds of large international business, where demand is always consistently high and, as a rule, exceeds the supply. The explanation is simple: global economy will be in need in more and more volumes of energy commodities primarily in hydrocarbons which in foreseeable future will be the major fuel in the world industry. In these circumstances, it is logical to pursuit large producers of hydrocarbons, including Turkmenistan, which increase its export potential, create an extensive, modern and effective infrastructure, its transit and delivery to the consumer.

Depending from current resource base and peculiar its geographical location, countries- producers are actively searching ready markets and the most short cut routs to access it. It is an absolute reasonable position of our State, a producer of the fuel to be accountable to stand up for its national interests and to its active assistance to ensure global energy securities.

It is exactly this approach and universally recognized status of Turkmenistan as the richest in hydrocarbon fuel reserve among the world’s energy countries stipulate an increased interest of foreign business circles in holding in our country international forum in the field of fuel and energy sector. As is known, one of the largest projects implemented in this field is industrial exploration of super-giant gas field “Galkynysh”.

Within the framework of first phase of the industrial field development "Galkynysh", carried out by the State Concern "Turkmengaz" together with foreign partners, is built complex of facilities that allow producing 30 billion cubic meters of marketable gas in a year.

It was launched the second and third phases of development of this field also considering construction of new gas purification facilities. Upon completion of entire works, the total volume of purified natural gas in the field will be 93 billion cubic meters, and the process units of the complex will annually produce several millions of tons of sulfur and hundreds of thousands tons of condensate.

Implementation of an ambitious project for the development of this field is so actual because of construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline; a major source of supply of which will be "Galkynysh". In addition to this block of fields, State Concern "Turkmengaz" develop about 30 gas and gas condensate fields, including "Dovletabat" and "Shatlyk", the largest fields "Malay", "Kerpichli", "Gazlydepe", "Bagaja", " Elguyy "and others. Operating well stock is about 1000 units.

A separate topic of presentation was the chemical processing of natural gas components, i.e. methane, ethane and others with receipt to highly liquid products. Creating of technological chain of complex processing of natural gas gives a huge effect: the more deepens chemical process of natural gas the more raises the cost for the final product.

According to experts' forecasting, natural gas and gas chemistry will play in the world’s economy and energy sectors in the 21st century such a role which equals to oil and oil chemistry in the last century.

Some reports were devoted to priority directions commissioning in production of modern equipment, advanced technology and the latest achievements of world science in the gas industry, the widespread use of highly efficient, fully automated and adopted of telemechanics of manufacturing machinery.

Tomorrow, the VII International Gas Congress and dedicated to it sectoral exhibition will continue its work.
