The results of the online student Olympiad in specialized English, organized by the International University for Humanities and Development with the support of the country's Ministry of Education, have been summed up.
The specificity and level of complexity of the Olympiad tasks were provided for three categories of students, depending on their profile of training at the university. The first category included students of engineering and technological areas, the second - humanitarian, the third was represented by those who study economics and management.
In the category of participants in engineering and technological areas, 8 winners were determined. Among them are Rakhim Charyev (Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction), Ailale Yusupova, Zubeida Dzhumagylydzhova (State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan, Mary), Bibimery Gulamova, Kuvvat Vekilov (Institute of Engineering, Technical and Transport Communications of the country), Vekil Bekmuradov (Engineer - Technological University of Turkmenistan named after Oguzkhan), Beki Jumakuliev, Dayanch Orazgylydzhov (Turkmen State University named after Makhtumkuli).
15 second and 26 third places were taken by representatives of the above universities, as well as the International University of Oil and Gas named after Y. Kakaev, the Turkmen Agricultural Institute (Dashoguz), the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of the country, the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov, the Turkmen State S. Seydi Pedagogical Institute.
Among the humanities students, students from four universities became the best in knowledge of the language. The eight winners were represented by Baynazar Nepesov, Rakhmet Soltanov (Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country), Arazgeldy Durdyev (International University of Humanities and Development), Dilbar Ismailova, Lachin Shamukhammedova, Myakhri Gummyeva, Hansoltan Nuryeva (Turkmen National Institute of World Languages) , and Myakhrijemal Meredova (TSU named after Makhtumkuli).
Out of 14 second places, 6 were awarded to students of the T. Azadi TNIMYa, 4 - Makhtumkuli TSU, 2 each - IUHD and IMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country.
In addition to these universities, the Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov, Pedagogical Institute named after S. Seidi and the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics have joined the third-place holders (there are 17 of them in total).
The best experts in specialized English in the field of economics and management were 4 students who took 1st places in the competition. These are Meriem Yusupgulyeva (Institute of Finance), Dovletmurat Mukhammetgulyev, Bayramgeldy Nazarov and Maral Allaberdieva (IUHD).
On the second step of the podium in this category, the students of IUHD were also in the lead - 4 winners out of 6. Another 2 second places were in the assets of TSU im. Makhtumkuli and IMO Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country.
Out of 9 third places - 4 at the Institute of Finance, 3 at IUHD, 1 at the Institute of Engineering, Technical and Transport Communications and TSU named after Makhtumkuli.
In general, according to the results of the competition, 20 winners and 87 prize-winners from 14 universities were named. In total, 300 students from 17 Turkmen universities took part in the Olympiad.
The Olympiad was held in order to assess the level of linguistic training of students in the field of their professional areas, to identify talented and capable participants who speak a foreign language perfectly.
Various student Olympiads, designed to identify the level of language knowledge, are held within the framework of the implementation of the "Concept for improving the teaching of foreign languages in Turkmenistan" and "Concept for the development of the digital education system in Turkmenistan". Among the main tasks of such competitions is the expansion of cooperation between the country's universities in the field of improving the teaching of foreign languages through a single educational digital network.
