Regional seminar on development of cooperation with international organizations in the sphere of counteraction of the threats and challenges of today, in particular counteraction of human traffic, organized by the Government of Turkmenistan together with the representative of International Organization for Migration in Turkmenistan started in accordance with approved schedule in the capital hotel "Yildyz".
Representatives of law enforcement agencies, state and social organizations of our country, representatives of the diplomatic missions and UN agencies accredited in Turkmenistan, international expert on the matters of counteraction of human trafficking as well as foreign guests from Austria, Albania, Belarus, the Great Britain, Netherlands, Moldova and Czech Republic were invited to participate in versatile meeting.
The purpose of two-day seminar is to study the most effective world practice for enforcement of national legislation in this sphere and bringing of it to the world standards.
Turkmenistan, steadily executing all obligations in the sphere of human rights and international humanitarian law possesses, has positive experience in this field. Thus, in December 2007, the Law of Turkmenistan on "Counter for Human Trafficking" was adopted in accordance with the Article 129 imply to sentence to imprisonment was included in Criminal code.
Special work group on counteraction of human trafficking comprising of representatives of authorized state structures and non-governmental organizations was formed in Turkmenistan in the beginning of 2014. National Action Plan of Turkmenistan for counteraction of human trafficking for 2016 - 2018 approved by special Decree of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in March this year was developed by this group with the assistance of international expert.
Highlighting the exclusive importance of adopted document, the participants expressed their confidence that implementation of all planned activities and measures would directly support the provision of human rights and freedom, consolidation of social and legal protection of population as well as improvement of work in this direction.
Speaking of necessity of consolidation of joint efforts in resolving of the most important issues of today, the participants of the seminar emphasized the importance of regular meetings, which assist the exchange of experience in the sphere of human rights and international humanitarian law.
